The Pathways to Health Professions Program is designed to introduce students to diverse career opportunities within the healthcare field. Students will develop an understanding
of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, basic clinical skills, fundamental nursing skills, and learn essential concepts related to safety, infection control, vital signs, body mechanics, human body structure, nutrition, cultural diversity, and effective communication. The program is designed to promote careers in healthcare, and to permit graduates to enter the workforce as a Patient Care Technician who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and/or pursue postsecondary education. Instruction will also include the use of advanced technology that includes a realistic simulation lab with mid fidelity manikins, functional hospital equipment, and Anatomage Tables in the Medical Immersion Lab.
